On the afternoon of January 14th, in accordance with the school's requirements, the leadership team of the Department of Physical Education convened its 2022 Democratic Life Meeting via video conference. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Hongliang，the Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Department of Physical Education , with the participation of all members of the department's leadership team.

Before the meeting, the General Branch of the Department of Physical Education made ample preparations, meticulously planned in accordance with requirements, and promptly conveyed the relevant spirit, demonstrating a high level of importance attached to this Democratic Life Meeting.Through collective discussions, ideological propaganda, and individual self-study, they comprehensively and accurately learned and grasped the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. They also widely solicited opinions and suggestions from party members, cadres, and the masses. The leadership team engaged in heart-to-heart conversations, communicated thoughts, exchanged opinions, and diligently prepared the leadership team's comparison inspection materials and personal speaking outlines.

At the meeting, Zhao Hongliang, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Sports Department, first represented the department's leadership team in conducting a comparative inspection, reporting on the implementation of corrective measures from the thematic democratic life meetings on the study and education of CPC’s history and other relevant thematic democratic life meetings held in 2022. Centering on the theme of the meeting and in conjunction with the department's actual situation, he meticulously identified issues and deficiencies in each of the six key areas of focus, conducted a thorough analysis of the underlying causes, and provided a deep examination of the ideological roots.

Zhao Hongliang took the lead in conducting a personal self-inspection. Other members of the team, focusing on the theme, discussed their thoughts and understandings and conducted self-inspections in light of their work realities. They delved into prominent issues, thoroughly analyzed the specific causes, clarified their directions for future efforts, and proposed corresponding corrective measures. Subsequently, all members of the team, with an attitude of loyalty to the Party, dedication to their work, and responsibility towards their colleagues, engaged in criticism and self-criticism. Everyone spoke candidly, confronted the issues directly, offered constructive suggestions, and achieved the goals of aligning thoughts, enhancing unity, remedying deficiencies, and boosting morale.

Zhao Hongliang made a concluding speech, emphasizing the following points: First, to skillfully apply the spirit of struggle, with an emphasis on unity and practical results; Second, to strengthen full and strict governance over the Party to prevent the emergence of formalism; Third, to continue deepening systematic learning and innovating methods; Fourth, to profoundly understand the decisive significance of the “Two Establishments” (Establish Comrade Xi Jinping as the core of the Party Central Committee and the entire Party, as well as establish the guiding status of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era), enhance the “Four Consciousnesses"(refer to maintaining political commitment, thinking in terms of the general picture, following the core leadership of the CPC Central Committee, and acting in accordance with its requirements), firm up the "four confidences"(The Four-sphere Confidence refers to confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics), and ensure the "two upholds"(refer to upholding General Secretary Xi Jinping’s core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and upholding the Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership), thereby firming political stance and improving political judgment, comprehension, and execution; Fifth, to improve work styles and methods, creating a work environment that encourages initiative and innovation in the face of challenges; Sixth, to refine the comprehensive supervision mechanism and foster a clean and righteous political environment.
