On November 18th, Professor Tian Fujun, the leader of the third inspection and verification group for the Ministry of Education’s 2023 National Student Physical Health Standard, and his delegation of eight individuals visited our school’s Longhu campus. They conducted on-site random testing and verification of our school’s student physical health testing work and listened to the work report.

During the meeting, Director Wei Jian of the Department of Physical Education reported on the school’s physical health testing work over the past three years from four aspects: basic situation, main practices, existing problems, and development ideas. The expert panel gave high praise to the school’s efforts and clarified the significance, procedures, and requirements of this random inspection and verification work. Following the meeting, the random inspection and verification work was carried out in an orderly manner at the school’s central athletic field.

The random inspection and verification involved selecting 40 male and 40 female students from each grade, from freshman to senior year, totaling 320 students. The test items included 10 items such as height, weight, vital capacity, 50-meter dash, sit-and-reach, standing long jump, pull-ups (for males), 1-minute sit-ups (for females), 1000-meter run (for males), and 800-meter run (for females). Under the supervision and guidance of the expert panel, the Department of Physical Education strictly followed the requirements of the Ministry of Education’s documents, meticulously designing and scientifically arranging all aspects, including material preparation, venue layout, personnel division, and testing procedures. Six physical education teachers and 20 volunteers were assigned to assist with the testing, ensuring that the random inspection and verification work was conducted safely, smoothly, and orderly.

Under the guidance of the physical education teachers, all the students participating in the test thoroughly warmed up to ensure the safety of the testing. During the testing process, the experts and testing staff were conscientious and meticulous, ensuring that the data was authentic and valid. The tested students actively participated and vied with each other, demonstrating the excellent spirit of our school’s teachers and students. With the strong support of the School of Economics and Management, the Security Department, and the Logistics Service Center, the entire retesting process was well-organized, rigorous, and orderly, earning unanimous praise from the expert panel of the Ministry of Education.

Taking this spot check and re-test of the National Student Physical Health Standard as an opportunity, our school will comprehensively strengthen and improve physical education, strive to enhance students’ physical health, help students enjoy the fun of sports, build up their physique, improve their personalities, and temper their willpower. With a full spirit and a high-spirited attitude, we will work hard towards the high-standard establishment of Henan University of Electronic Technology.
