To commemorate the “12.9” Anti-Japanese National Salvation Movement, honor the revolutionary martyrs, promote patriotism, inherit sports culture, cultivate students' perseverance, bravery, and competitive sports spirit, and continuously strengthen physical exercise to improve physical health, our school held the 2023 “12.9” Winter Long-Distance Running Event. On the morning of December 9th, the event kicked off simultaneously at Longhu Campus and Zhongyuan Campus. Led by teachers Chen Ke, Kang Xueyi, and Shangzhaoguang from the Department of Physical Education, over 2,000 students from both campuses actively participated. Together, they warmed up, faced the cold wind, challenged themselves, and pursued vitality and health.

Through this event, students have recognized the importance of winter long-distance running in maintaining physical health. By engaging in long-distance running, they strengthen their physical exercise, hone their willpower, improve their physical fitness, boost their immunity, enhance their mental state, and alleviate psychological stress. At the same time, winter long-distance running helps them overcome their own laziness, tap into their potential, reinforce honesty education, and strive to be the primary responsible person for their own health. We look forward to having more student runners join in, conquering the winter together, and pursuing a healthier and more energetic life.

This event aims to thoroughly implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping on “establishing the educational concept of health first,” commemorate the 88th anniversary of the “12.9” Movement, and guide our students to remember their original aspirations and missions, uphold their beliefs, and bravely move forward.
