On the afternoon of March 5, the Department of Physical Education held a joint Party and Administration meeting in Room 309 of Zhentai Building study and deploy the department’s work plan for the new semester. The meeting was presided over by Wei Jian, Director of the Department of Physical Education, with the participation of the leadership team and heads of various divisions.

During the meeting, the heads of each division reported one by one on the preparation status of documents for the undergraduate education and teaching assessment. Wei Jian pointed out that this year is the crucial year for our university to achieve its name change to a university, as well as for the undergraduate education and teaching assessment. He hoped that everyone would focus on the central work of our university, prepare meticulously, and strive to be the hardest-working members of Zhonggongren (a nickname for the staff and students of ZUT).

Wei Jian emphasized that the university had recently issued several notices of teaching. Each teaching and research section should increase the frequency of teaching supervision and further specify requirements for teachers’ preparation of teaching materials and the placement of mobile phones for both teachers and students. Special attention should be paid to the training intensity in the latter half of sports classes to ensure the teaching quality and exercise effectiveness of gym class.

Wei Jian noted that preparations for the physical fitness test spot checks by the Provincial Department of Education next week should be made in advance, particularly in terms of inspecting the venues, equipment, and rosters, preparing team uniforms, and implementing warm-up and other safety measures. Regarding the sports meet and sports culture festival, notifications should be issued early to further improve the competition regulations, appropriately increase the number of awards, and fully manifest the achievements of our university’s sports teaching.

At the meeting, the participants also discussed how to motivate juniors and seniors students to actively participate in the Sunshine Running event, how to expand revenue-increasing projects through sports training, and the recruitment plans for various specialized PE. (Reporter: Zhang Zhenhua)
