On the afternoon of April 24th, Vice President Yang Kun visited the Department of Physical Education for a research discussion session. The meeting was attended by the department’ party leadership members, heads of each teaching and research sections, the director of the administrative office, and the director of the academic affairs office. Zhao Hongliang, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Department of Physical Education, served as the chairperson for the meeting.
At the symposium, Wei Jian reported on various aspects, including the department overview, physical education, physical fitness testing, physical activities, sports training and competitions, research and social services, as well as the challenges faced by the department and strategies for resolution. Yang Kun fully affirmed the achievements made by the Department of Physical Education under limited conditions and engaged in in-depth discussions with the attendees on issues related to departmental development, talent recruitment, teaching reform, and professional settings. He put forward three requirements for the work of the Department of Physical Education: First, to carefully summarize and refine excellent teaching outcomes, forming typical cases that reflect the characteristics of physical education teaching. Second, to ensure uniform teaching evaluation standards and standardized teaching materials, and to effectively prepare for the review and evaluation of materials. Third, to align with the trend of high-quality development of the school, and to plan the future development direction of the Department of Physical Education by integrating the characteristics of the sports major and the resource advantages of our school. Finally, Yang Kun provided specific guidance and arrangements for key tasks such as educational teaching review and evaluation, and recruitment promotion.
