In May 2024, the Henan Province Youth Campus Football “Governor’s Cup” University Students’ Futsal Competition concluded successfully at Henan University. Our university’s women’s football team stood out in the intense competition and achieved excellent results.
This competition is hosted by the Education Department of Henan Province and the Sports Bureau of Henan Province, and organized by Henan University and the Football Association of the Henan Provincial Student Sports Federation. The aim is to promote the development of youth campus football in Henan Province, improve the level of university students’ football skills, and cultivate reserve talents for football.
In the competition, our university’s women’s football team did not fear strong opponents and dared to fight. They fully demonstrated team collaboration and individual skills. They showed excellent skills and tactical literacy in the game, continuously creating offensive opportunities and putting great pressure on their opponents. At the same time, they also displayed good sportsmanship, respecting their opponents and obeying the referees, which earned the respect and praise of the audience and their opponents.
After several rounds of intense competition, our team ultimately won the eighth place (second prize) in the women’s group A of the undergraduate category, as well as the Sportsmanship Award and several other honors. Behind these honors lies the players’ hard training day after day and relentless striving, as well as the coaches’ meticulous guidance and selfless dedication.
This competition was not only a comprehensive test of the level of football sports at our university, but also an important manifestation of our university’s physical education work. Our university will continue to strengthen our physical education efforts, promote the popularization and development of campus football, make positive contributions to the cultivation of more outstanding football talents, and inject new vitality and momentum into the overall development of the university.
