On the morning of September 11th, in order to actively respond to the school's call for safety work, the leadership team of the Department of Physical Education conducted a comprehensive fire hazard investigation in the sports venues of Longhu Campus, as well as the Beiyuan Gym, body shaping room, and equipment room. By taking practical actions, they embodied the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost," and fortified a solid defense line for fire safety in campus.
"There is no trivias in safety, thus our responsibility weighs heavier than Mount Tai." The Department of Physical Education attaches great importance to this fire hazard investigation and rectification work. It promptly established a special working group, led personally by the head of the department, with clear division of labor, detailed responsibilities, and formulated a feasible plan for investigation and rectification to ensure that every task is targeted, precise, and efficient.
In the course of the inspection, a combination of "self-inspection, peer-review, and spot check" was adopted to conduct a thorough investigation of all sports facilities, including stadiums, gyms, fitness rooms, and equipment rooms. The investigation covered every detail, from the configuration and integrity of fire-fighting facilities to the unobstructed access of safety exits; from the standardized use of electrical wiring to the effectiveness of emergency lighting and evacuation indication signs. Additionally, special attention was paid to the fire safety of the sports equipment room to ensure that the stored sports equipments complied with fire safety standards, thereby eliminating fire hazards.
For the potential fire safety hazards identified during the inspection, we adhered to the principle of "making corrections while conducting inspections and immediately implementing corrective actions". Those that could be rectified on-site were immediately addressed, while for those that could not be rectified immediately, clear responsible person, rectification measures, and deadlines for completion were assigned to ensure that every hazard could be dealt with in a timely and effective way. Additionally, we have established a long-term mechanism for the investigation and rectification of potential hazards. Through regular reviews, random spot checks, and other means, we continuously track the progress of rectification to ensure that the rectification effects are implemented effectively.
Through a series of solid and effective efforts, the Department of Physical Education has achieved remarkable results in the investigation and rectification of fire safety hazards, providing a strong guarantee for the safety and stability of the campus. However, the pursuit of safety is never-ending. We will take this investigation and rectification as an opportunity to further consolidate our achievements, continuously strengthen fire safety management and publicity and education efforts, and strive to build a safer, healthier, and more harmonious campus sports environment.
